สามพันโบก / Sam Phan Bok / Three Thousand Holes.

This is a must-see for all geology heads. Despite it being a tourist place, the locals are very nice and helpful. For myself, it made me happy to visit the exact spot where they filmed a video for the song อีสานบ้านเฮา / Isaan Our Home, featured in the drama มนต์รักแม่น้ำมูล / Mon Rak Mae Nam Mun in 2011. Props to the หมอลำ / morlam singer แม่ไก่ / Mae Kai (ไก่ ปริศนา วงศ์ศิริ / Kai Prissana Wongsiri) for knocking it out of the park on this one. And the dancing? Come on. It doesn't get much better than this, especially in this setting.

P.S. If I were to be a tour guide, I would hope to be half as competent and kind as the young lady who showed us around. น้องกำลังอ่านโพสต์นี้อยู่หรือเปล่า? ขอบคุณมากครับ

วัดพระธาตุหนองบัว / Wat Phra That Nong Bua.

If you travel around Thailand with Thai people, you're going to visit some temples. Embrace it. At a minimum, there are always beautiful gardens and buildings, and everybody is on their best behavior because it's a temple.

I have mixed feelings about temple tourism, but as visiting temples goes, this was a worthwhile stop.
