As an anti-Facebook crusader, this blog is my alternative for keeping in touch with family and friends. Note: You have to press Play twice to play a video: Once to load the video and then again to actually play it. Use the Older Post(s) link to view posts in reverse chronological order.

Still fun to look at new motorcycles.
There is no uncertainty. I won't be buying any more motorcycles in Thailand due to environmental conditions (extreme heat, nearly constant air pollution, diesel fumes everywhere always). But it's still fun looking at what's for sale.

For a second car, all we need is a little electric runabout.
If we were to purchase a second car, it would probably be something like the 2026 Changan Lumin. It's got a range of 300 kilometers, which is fine because it would be for local use only. Currently for sale in Thailand for the equivalent of USD 14,515.
Note: Those are 14-inch wheels. It was no problem getting down to check. But getting back up... That's always a different story.

Too bad we can't get this basic truck in the U.S.
It sure would be nice if we could purchase basic trucks like this in the U.S. Below is pictured the 2026 Toyota Hilux Champ. Purchase price in Thailand is the equivalent of USD 18,300. That's with a 2.4L diesel engine, though, and to say that I would never purchase a diesel engine is an understatement. I would go for the 4-cylinder 2.7L gasoline engine (166 hp). Basic!!!

How much hotter could Hell possibly be?
I'm going to do something that goes against everything I believe in. I'm going to post a temperature chart that uses an antique measurement system. I do so because it's the only way family and friends in America can appreciate just how hot it is here. Of course, I'll post a duplicate chart that uses world-standard measurement units as well.
Poor America, way too afraid of change, no matter how beneficial. Poor me for moving to Hell on Earth, at least during this season of peak heat and air pollution.

The last time I left the living module?
I think the last time I left our living module (house) was Tuesday, March 31st. The heat is intense. The toxic air pollution (including PM 2.5) is just as bad or worse. Many chain-smoking alcoholics who moved here to drink themselves to death will tell you how much they love living on Space Station Thailand. But not me. The environmental destruction just makes me sad.
I need to bust out that old Asama Denver guitar and work on that song about: Concrete and Diesel. Diesel and Concrete. It is, after all, the season for indoor activities only.
