The orange beetle

After a rain shower, we found this orange beetle on the footpath (sidewalk). It is not small, about the size of a U.S. quarter coin.

We are part of a system where the จิ้งจก / jingjoks wait for us to turn on the front porch light each night. We turn on the light. The light attracts the bugs. The จิ้งจก / jingjoks eat the bugs. Circle of life, I guess.

Victory Strut: Nobody even knew or cared.

After the Golden State victory, I just had to parade around the mall wearing my Warriors ball cap. It appears that not one person even knew or cared about the Golden State win. The thrill of my victory strut was completely destroyed by a perfect wall of ignoring. Care about football, the locals and Westerners do, but basketball? Nope. That's for the folks back home, I guess.

Almost always have at least one lotus flower.

Props to the lotus plant in our "pond" for almost always providing us with at least one lotus flower to brighten our days. Come to think of it, I don't think there's ever been more than one. A new one doesn't come out of the water until after the previous one has ceased being alive. Works for me.

Thai numerals clock: Will I finally remember them all?

My theory is that by frequently looking at this Thai numerals clock, I will finally succeed in recognizing all ten numerals. Nothing else has worked. I have learned and forgotten some of these numerals many, many times.

Forget about writing them. For now, I would be satisfied with just reading them correctly.
